Are Seventh-day Adventists a new religion or religious sect?
The Seventh-day Adventist Church (commonly abbreviated "Adventist") is a Protestant Christian denomination which is distinguished by its observance of Saturday, the original seventh day of the Judeo-Christian week, as the Sabbath, and by its emphasis on the imminent second coming of Jesus Christ. It is the eighth largest international body of Christians. The denomination grew out of the Millerite movement in the United States during the middle part of the 19th century and was formally established in 1863. More.
What do Adventists believe?
Seventh-day Adventists accept the Bible as their only creed and hold certain fundamental beliefs to be the teaching of the Holy Scriptures. These beliefs constitute the church's understanding and expression of the teaching of Scripture. More.
Aren't Adventists supposed to be anti-Catholic?
Seventh-day Adventists regard all men and women as equal in the sight of God. We reject bigotry against any person, regardless of race, nationality, or religious creed. Further, we gladly acknowledge that sincere Christians may be found in other denominations, including Roman Catholicism, and we work in concert with all agencies and bodies that seek to relieve human suffering and to uplift Christ before the world. I've heard Adventist have funny dietary rules. What's that about?

Do Adventists have missionaries?
The mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church , as articulated in the church's mission statement, is to proclaim to all people the everlasting gospel in the context of the Three Angels' messages of Revelation 14:6-12. The commission of Jesus Christ compels us to lead others to accept Jesus as their personal savior and to unite with His church, and nurture them in preparation for His soon return. Adventists believe that we should be engaged in the world and actively seeking connections with people. We recognize that sometimes certain social "hot topics" come up and need to be addressed. This is done with prayerful consideration and an understanding that God loves every person. More.
How is the church organized?
The Seventh-day Adventist Church is organized with a representative form of church government. This means authority in the Church comes from the membership of local churches. Executive responsibility is given to representative bodies and officers to govern the Church. Four levels of Church structure lead from the individual believer to the worldwide Church organization: The Local Church, The Local Conference or Mission Field, The Union Conference or Union Field Mission, The General Conference.
